By signing in to Segment Hunter, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
02What Segment Hunter is
Segment Hunter is a companion app for Strava that highlights segments where you're close to a KOM/QOM, and lets you compare yourself against friends who also use it. It relies entirely on Strava's API — if Strava changes, limits, or removes access to the data we need, some or all of Segment Hunter's features may change or stop working, and that's outside our control.
03Accounts
You sign in with a Google account and connect a Strava account in your own name. You're responsible for keeping those accounts secure — we never see or store your Google or Strava password. You must be old enough to hold a Strava account in your own right to use Segment Hunter.
04Your Strava data
By connecting Strava, you authorise us to read your activity and segment data on your behalf, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can disconnect Strava at any time from within the app, which stops all future syncing and deletes the data we'd cached. Using Segment Hunter doesn't change your obligations under Strava's own terms of service — you're still bound by those separately.
05Segment Hunter Pro
Segment Hunter Pro is an optional paid subscription that removes the free tier's one-rival limit on Head-to-Head. Billing is handled entirely by Stripe; we never see your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled.
- You can cancel any time from the billing portal inside the app. You'll keep Pro access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe and may change with notice.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
06Acceptable use
Don't misuse Segment Hunter. That includes: attempting to access another user's account or data, scraping or automating access to the app outside normal use, attempting to bypass the free-tier limits without a Pro subscription, or using the app in any way that breaches Strava's or Google's own terms of service.
07Head-to-Head & other users
Head-to-Head comparisons are opt-in on both sides — a challenge only becomes active once the other person accepts it, and either side can remove it at any time. Be a decent rival: harassment or abuse of other users through the app isn't tolerated and may result in your account being suspended.
08Third-party services
Segment Hunter uses Strava, Google, and Stripe to work. We aren't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them — “Strava” and related marks belong to Strava, Inc. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, separately from ours.
Those third-party providers supply their services “as is” and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, disclaim all warranties in connection with Segment Hunter, whether express or implied — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the same extent, none of those providers is liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from your use of Segment Hunter.
09No warranty
Segment Hunter is a small, independently run app provided “as is.” We don't guarantee it will be available, error-free, or perfectly accurate — segment times and gaps are only as good as the data Strava's API gives us. Nothing here excludes liability that can't legally be excluded.
10Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Segment Hunter. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid us (if any) in the twelve months before the claim arose.
11Termination
You can stop using Segment Hunter and disconnect your accounts at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or discontinue the service entirely, with reasonable notice where practical.
12Changes
We may update these terms as Segment Hunter evolves. If a change is material, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the update.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
